About Tamber

Tamber is a solo practitioner and consultant with several years of experience of working on behalf of people seeking protection, security, and the opportunity to build a future for themselves and their children.

Prior to her admission to the bar, Tamber worked overseas in Thailand for five years, first at the International Rescue Committee Refugee Resettlement Support Center coordinating interpreter services for applicants to the U.S. refugee resettlement program, and later at Asylum Access Thailand (AAT) as a legal advocate assisting asylum seekers with their claims before the UNHCR. Upon her return to the United States in 2016, she took a job as Resettlement Program Manager at Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest (formerly Refugee Focus), where she managed a team dedicated to helping new refugee arrivals from all over the world adjust and thrive in their new homes.

Tamber is also an accomplished Spanish interpreter and translator, with over a decade of experience interpreting and mentoring other interpreters. She is federally certified and also holds state-level certification in Virginia. She regularly teaches and presents on various topics related to interpreting and technology and interpreting and law for courts, professional associations, and the University of Arizona, and has also consulted for the National Center for State Courts (NCSC).  She is passionate about language and access to justice, which involves the right of people to meaningfully participate in court proceedings and receive services regardless of the language they speak.

Tamber lives and works in beautiful Tucson, Arizona. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, climbing, and all things outdoors.
